AOD
Argon oxygen decarburation : The AOD converter is a metallurgical refining tool. During the process, lasting about 60 minutes, under control and computer-assisted, it reduces carbon, and allows also a deep desulfurization and a deoxidation thanks to a very high temperature. Thanks to the Argon, during this process, unwished melting loss of chromium, vanadium, manganese and other elements is much reduced comparing to an electric furnace process. All throughout the refinement, the computer calculates and controls in real-time the analysis and the temperature of molten metal to obtain a metal alloy with elements and a microstructure fully controlled. Thanks to this purity metal, it provides a better guarantee of mechanical properties and a better resistance to corrosion. On the environmental side, the converter also helps improve working conditions in the steel industry by reducing the emissions of particulates.
